My primary research interests lie in rendering spatial audio virtually to enhance virtual environments and to sonify information sources.

My doctoral work in the Interactive Systems group at the University of Michigan involved assessing the individualization of rendering virtual sounds over headphones. Once that was resolved, I studied how listeners could be trained locate and remember these virtual sounds as they “walked” through the virtual environment.

I am interested in developing projects to apply virtual spatial audio to various areas such as: virtual environments, assistive technology, data sonification, and  education.
